The INTERTAPE POLYMER GROUP 9502-B is a cold weather aluminum foil tape engineered for HVAC duct seaming, patching, and sealing across a wide service temperature range of -58 degrees F to +200 degrees F. The aggressive acrylic adhesive bonds to clean, dry surfaces and maintains long-lasting adhesion through sub-zero and elevated temperature cycles. The foil facing is flame retardant, UV-resistant, and delivers high shear adhesion with excellent reflective properties. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this tape to maintain vapor barrier integrity, block odors, and prevent heating and cooling loss in duct systems. It meets UL-723 and ASTM E84 ratings for flame spread and smoke development, as well as HUD and BOCA codes.
This tape is suited for general-purpose HVAC applications in both residential and light commercial duct systems. It is used for longitudinal seaming of flex duct, patching damaged foil facings, and sealing duct joints where vapor barrier continuity is required. The wide service temperature window makes it reliable in unconditioned spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, and mechanical rooms where ambient temperatures swing significantly. It applies at -58 degrees F, making it effective for cold-weather installations without loss of adhesion.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose aluminum foil tape for residential and commercial HVAC duct seaming, patching, and sealing applications where UL-723 and ASTM E84 compliance is required.
This tape is typically installed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal mechanics. Before applying, ensure all duct surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or loose material to allow full adhesive contact. Power down the air handling system before working on duct sections. Avoid applying over painted or contaminated surfaces, as adhesion will be compromised.
