The INTERTAPE POLYMER GROUP 5561USR is a red polypropylene film sheathing tape engineered for permanent seaming and sealing in residential and commercial construction applications. It uses an aggressive solvent-based acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds reliably across a wide temperature range, from as low as -40 degrees F up to elevated job-site temperatures. At 1.89 inches wide and 55 yards per roll, it delivers consistent coverage for lap sealing, joint seaming, and repair work. The polypropylene film backing provides conformability and flexibility, making it practical for irregular surfaces and tight corners without lifting or flagging.
This tape is suited for insulation contractors, weatherization crews, and general construction trades working with foam insulation board, house wraps, vapor barriers, construction films, and batt or roll insulation. Common applications include sealing joints in foam sheathing, securing lap edges on housewrap, repairing rips and tears in insulation facings and membranes, and eliminating air infiltration around window and door rough openings. The red color provides visual confirmation of taped seams during inspection. It is rated resistant to mold growth and high humidity, making it appropriate for exterior and below-grade assemblies where moisture exposure is expected.
Designed for use with foam insulation board, house wraps, vapor barriers, construction films, and batt or roll insulation facings. Not intended for application to wet surfaces, wet wood, or wet facing materials.
Applied by construction trades and insulation contractors as part of the building envelope assembly. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of dust or debris before application — do not apply to wet wood or wet facing. Press the tape firmly along the full length of the seam to ensure full adhesive contact. Work practices should comply with applicable building code requirements for air barriers and vapor retarders as adopted by the authority having jurisdiction.
