The INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS ml6161b2024 is a direct-coupled, general-purpose, non-spring return damper actuator rated at 35 lb-in of torque with a maximum stall torque of 70 lb-in. It operates on 24 Vac supply voltage (plus or minus 20%) at 60 Hz and accepts floating or SPDT control signals, making it compatible with a wide range of building automation systems and thermostats. The actuator delivers a 90-degree rotational stroke with mechanical adjustment available at 45 or 60 degrees in either clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Licensed HVAC technicians performing balancing, controls, and air-side work are the primary installers of this device.
This actuator is designed for use in variable air volume (VAV) terminal units and for mounting on ball valves in HVAC applications. It suits both residential and commercial HVAC control systems where reliable, non-spring return operation is required. The unit accommodates damper shafts ranging from 3/8 to 1/2 inch square or round profiles and can be wired to set the direction of rotation on opening. It operates within an ambient temperature range of 20 degrees F to 125 degrees F and a storage temperature range of 20 degrees F to 130 degrees F, covering a broad range of mechanical room and field installation environments.
Designed for direct coupling to damper shafts from 3/8 to 1/2 inch square or round profiles; suitable for use with SPDT or floating thermostats and building automation controls in VAV terminal unit and ball valve mounting applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage control wiring and air-side system controls. De-energize the control circuit and lock out the air handling unit before mounting or wiring the actuator. Confirm shaft diameter and profile compatibility before securing the aluminum hub set screws. Reference local mechanical and electrical codes, including NEC requirements for low-voltage control wiring, during installation.
