The INTELLINET 560641 is an 8-port Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ switch designed to deliver both data and electrical power over standard Cat5e or Cat6 cabling. It supports the IEEE 802.3at standard, providing up to 30 watts per port with a total PoE power budget of 140 watts. The switch handles network speeds up to 1000 Mbps across all eight ports and is suited for installation by network technicians and low-voltage contractors in commercial and light commercial environments. Short circuit, overload, and high-voltage protection are built in to safeguard connected equipment.
This switch is used in network infrastructure deployments where powered endpoints such as wireless access points, VoIP phones, and IP security cameras need both data connectivity and power delivered over a single cable run. It eliminates the need for separate power adapters or electrical rewiring at each device location, making it practical for installations in ceilings, wall cavities, and other locations where AC outlets are not accessible. Any mix of PoE and non-PoE devices can be connected simultaneously across the eight ports.
Compatible with IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at compliant powered devices including wireless access points, VoIP phones, and IP cameras. Requires Cat5e or Cat6 cabling. For legacy devices that are not 802.3af or 802.3at compliant, use of an external PoE splitter is recommended.
Installation should be performed by a qualified network technician or low-voltage contractor familiar with structured cabling standards. Power down the switch before making or changing cable connections. Verify that the total power draw of all connected PoE devices does not exceed the 140-watt PoE budget. Per-port power delivery averages 17.5 watts under full load across all eight ports, and no single port may exceed 30 watts.
