The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 6120032 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-precision metal removal in milling applications. Manufactured in the XEVT series, this parallelogram-shaped insert carries the IN10K fine-grain carbide grade and features a bright, uncoated finish suited for non-ferrous metal cutting. It measures 0.835 inches in length, 0.441 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.217 inches thick. The positive rake geometry and 20-degree relief angle reduce cutting forces and promote clean chip evacuation. With 2 cutting edges and a 1/16-inch corner radius, this right-hand insert delivers consistent performance in production milling environments. It is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians on compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is intended for milling non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, copper alloys, and similar materials designated by material code N. It fits screw-clamp style cutter bodies and is designed for applications requiring positive rake geometry and corner-rounded cutting edges. The maximum depth of cut is 16.00 mm. Its ANSI and ISO designation is XEVT160516FR-P IN10K, providing a standardized reference for tooling engineers and procurement teams. The P chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation during continuous cuts in non-ferrous workpieces.
Designed for use with 1AX2K and AX2K series milling cutter bodies as specified by the manufacturer. ANSI and ISO code XEVT160516FR-P IN10K provides cross-reference for compatible tooling systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians using the appropriate torx or hex key for the cutter body screw-clamp system. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against all pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw. Inspect the pocket for debris or damage that could affect insert seating and runout.
