The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 6120030 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-precision material removal in milling applications involving non-ferrous metals. Carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XEVT160504FR-P IN10K, this insert features a parallelogram shape with a positive rake geometry and a sharp cutting edge style for clean, efficient cuts. The IN10K manufacturer grade uses a fine grain carbide substrate suited to the demands of non-ferrous workpiece materials. With 2 cutting edges, a corner radius of 0.0150 inches, and a cutting edge effective length of 0.630 inches, this right-hand insert delivers consistent performance in production milling environments. It is installed via screw-holding method and is a single-sided design.
This insert is intended for use in milling cutters compatible with the XEVT series, specifically the 1AX2K and AX2K cutter series. It is suited to machining non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys in both production shop and job shop settings. The bright uncoated finish makes it particularly effective where coating adhesion to the workpiece is a concern, a common consideration when cutting soft, gummy non-ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the typical installers. The minimum order quantity for this insert is 10 units, sold in individual packaging.
Designed for use with the 1AX2K and AX2K cutter series. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under designation XEVT160504FR-P IN10K. Compatible with toolholders and cutter bodies designed for the XEVT insert series with screw-type insert retention.
This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician using the screw-holding method standard to XEVT-series cutter bodies. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the pocket and torque the clamping screw according to the cutter body manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edge and corner radius for chips or damage before returning the cutter to service.
