The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5811613 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Manufactured to the DPM314-002 A designation in grade IN2005, this parallelogram-style insert features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering strong oxidation resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert runs a negative rake geometry with a sharp cutting edge style and zero relief angle, making it well suited for rigid machine setups and interrupted cuts. Four available cutting edges per insert reduce per-edge tooling cost, and the double-sided design maximizes usable life before replacement.
This insert is intended for milling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is held in the cutter body by a screw clamp and is compatible with Ingersoll cutter series 3SJ6. Neutral hand orientation allows use in standard indexable milling holders without handed seat restrictions. The DPM series is common in job shop and production environments where operators need one insert grade that crosses multiple material families without frequent grade changes.
Designed for use with Ingersoll cutter series 3SJ6 indexable milling bodies. Meets ANSI and ISO standards for insert designation DPM314-002 A. Insert size code 314 with thickness range of 0.2500 to 0.3500 inches and length range of 0.4000 to 0.4500 inches.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel using the designated torque screwdriver or T-key for the cutter body screw seat. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for damage before seating a new insert. Follow the cutter body manufacturer guidelines for screw torque - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate.
