The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5809753 is a solid carbide milling insert in the AOMT series, designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling operations. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards under grade IN2005 with a micrograin carbide substrate, this insert features a TiAlN PVD coating for extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The parallelogram insert geometry provides a positive rake angle and sharp cutting edge style. With two cutting edges per insert and a right-hand orientation, it suits production milling environments where tool economy and surface finish matter. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians install these inserts in compatible indexable milling cutters.
This insert is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including cast iron, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium. The TiAlN PVD coating provides heat resistance and oxidation resistance at elevated cutting temperatures, making it well suited for dry or semi-dry milling of difficult-to-machine alloys and ferrous materials. The AOMT110308R geometry and IN2005 grade combination targets applications where controlled chip formation and consistent edge integrity are required across high-volume runs.
Designed for use with Ingersoll cutter series 12J1F and 2J1F indexable milling cutter bodies. Screw-held insert mounting method. ANSI code AOMT110308R IN2005; ISO code AOMT110308R.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamping screw - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert. Confirm right-hand orientation matches the cutter body designation before engaging the spindle.
