The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5804825 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling operations. Designated by ISO code SHLT090308N-HR IN2005 and ANSI code SHLP32-01 IN2005, this single-sided, square-shaped insert carries a TiAlN PVD coating applied over a micrograin carbide substrate. It features a neutral hand orientation, positive rake geometry, and a corner radius of 0.031 inches. With four cutting edges per insert and an HR chip breaker, it is engineered for controlled chip evacuation and tool life across demanding cutting conditions. Machining centers and milling setups in industrial and production environments are the primary install context.
This insert is suited for milling cast iron, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium - workpiece material codes K, M, P, and S. Its positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces on these materials, making it effective in both roughing and finishing passes where edge stability and coating adhesion are critical. The HR chip breaker geometry is optimized for these material families. It is compatible with cutter series 15N1F, 15W7V, and 25J3F and is held in place by screw clamping.
Compatible with INGERSOLL cutter series 15N1F, 15W7V, and 25J3F. Designed for use in milling applications involving cast iron, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following standard insert indexing procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw - do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or contamination before seating a new insert.
