The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5803398 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation APKT160432R and manufacturer grade IN2030. It features a parallelogram insert shape with an 85-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a sharp cutting edge style. The TiAlN coating is applied via PVD process over a coarse-grain solid carbide substrate, delivering thermal and wear resistance during interrupted and continuous milling cuts. With two cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, this insert is suited for face milling and shoulder milling operations across a range of ferrous and exotic workpiece materials. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installers are not the audience here - this part is installed by machinists and CNC operators in metal-cutting environments.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials - corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and is compatible with Ingersoll cutter series 12J1B, 22J3B, 22J5B, 23J6G, and 2J1B. The single-sided configuration and common chip breaker geometry make it a versatile choice for general-purpose milling on CNC machining centers handling a wide cross-section of workpiece materials.
Compatible with Ingersoll cutter series 12J1B, 22J3B, 22J5B, 23J6G, and 2J1B. Screw-clamp insert holding method. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for parallelogram milling inserts.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screw to secure the screw-clamp holding method - do not over-torque or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and runout.
