Product Description

The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5801259 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for precision metal removal in milling operations. Carrying the ISO designation BDE434R001 IN2515 and ANSI code BDE434R01 J IN2515, this insert features a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a fine and medium grain solid carbide substrate. It is a right-hand, single-sided insert with a positive rake geometry and a 15-degree relief angle, producing two cutting edges per insert. The honed cutting edge style reduces chipping on entry and exit. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians working with CNC milling equipment are the primary installers and users of this insert.

This insert is suited for milling cast iron and non-ferrous metals, corresponding to ISO material groups K and N. The BDE series geometry and IN2515 grade are well matched to these materials, where the TiAlN and TiN coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability during cutting. It is compatible with the 16W7B cutter series and is held in the cutter body by a screw-type insert holding method. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and similar operations on machining centers and manual mills processing cast iron components or non-ferrous workpieces such as aluminum.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction in fine and medium grain for rigidity and wear resistance
  • TiAlN and TiN PVD coating for thermal protection and extended tool life in cast iron and non-ferrous applications
  • Positive rake geometry with 15-degree relief angle reduces cutting forces
  • Honed cutting edge style minimizes microchipping on entry and exit
  • Right-hand orientation, single-sided, with two cutting edges per insert
  • Screw-type insert holding method for secure, repeatable seating in compatible cutter bodies

Compatibility

Designed for use with the 16W7B cutter series. Insert style is BDE, size code 434, and the insert is compatible with toolholders accepting a BDE434R001 geometry per ANSI and ISO standards.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before seating the insert, clean the insert pocket and confirm the screw and seat are free of chips or debris. Torque the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specification only - do not use general torque values not listed in the cutter body documentation. Always index or replace inserts with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures.
