The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5523130 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision finishing operations on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Carrying the manufacturer grade TT5080 with a PVD-applied AlTiN and TiN dual coating, this insert delivers high wear resistance with moderate toughness - a balance suited to the demanding material properties of M and S workpiece categories. The insert follows ANSI designation CCMT32.52FA and ISO designation CCMT09T308FA, with a neutral hand orientation and a positive rake and side clearance geometry. It weighs 0.01 pounds and is installed via screw holding method.
This insert is intended for CNC lathe and turning center applications where finishing passes on stainless steel, superalloy, and titanium components are required. The FA chip breaker geometry controls chip flow during light-to-moderate depth-of-cut finishing cuts, making it appropriate for close-tolerance work in aerospace, medical, and industrial manufacturing environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with difficult-to-machine alloys will find the TT5080 grade particularly suited to maintaining edge integrity over extended cutting cycles. Minimum order quantity is 10 units; packaging quantity is 1 per package.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-lock toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert with ANSI size code 32.52 and ISO size code 09T308. Verify toolholder clearance code C and tolerance code M compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine in a full stopped and locked-out state before insert indexing or replacement. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating method - do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamp load. Inspect the insert seat and screw for debris or damage before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's guidelines for proper torque sequence and confirm insert seating before resuming cuts.
