The INGERSOLL CUTTING TOOLS 5513019 is a DCGT-style carbide turning insert ground to a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape for precision single-point turning operations. It carries the ANSI code DCGT32.50.5 and ISO code DCGT11T302, with a K10 uncoated carbide grade engineered for high wear-resistance on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. The insert features a positive rake and positive side clearance geometry, a 7-degree relief angle, and an FL chip breaker profile suited for roughing to medium machining passes. With two cutting edges and a screw-holding method, it is a production-ready insert for CNC lathe and turning center applications. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-room technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is used in external and internal turning, facing, and light contouring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers across job shop and production environments. The FL chip breaker geometry handles roughing and medium material removal on cast iron components, aluminum and other non-ferrous workpieces, and difficult-to-machine superalloys and titanium. Its positive cutting geometry reduces cutting forces, making it well-suited to lighter-duty setups and smaller machine tools where minimizing vibration and deflection is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for standard DCGT-style turning toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert with a screw-clamp holding method, per ISO and ANSI toolholder specifications for the DCGT32.50 insert size code.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tool-room technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool turret or holder must be secured before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value; do not over-tighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and may fracture. Verify insert seating and edge orientation before resuming cutting operations.
