The IMPORT RT-38B-11 is a non-insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for secure, permanent electrical connections in trade and industrial wiring applications. The terminal accepts 12 to 10 AWG wire and features a brass contact for reliable conductivity and resistance to corrosion. The 3/8-inch stud size accommodates common fastener diameters found in panel boards, equipment enclosures, and terminal strips. Electricians and panel technicians install this terminal by crimping the barrel onto the stripped wire conductor, then fastening the ring to the stud with the appropriate hardware. Its non-insulated construction is suited for applications where insulation is provided by the enclosure or an added heat-shrink sleeve.
This ring terminal is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work. Typical applications include grounding connections, equipment bonding, panel terminations, and control wiring where a bare metal terminal is acceptable or preferred. The brass contact material makes it a practical choice in environments where mild corrosion resistance is needed without the added cost of fully insulated alternatives. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 25 units per order, making it appropriate for stocking in service vans or shop inventory.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal for use with 12 to 10 AWG conductors and 3/8-inch studs in standard electrical panel, equipment grounding, and control wiring installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements for termination and grounding. De-energize the circuit completely before crimping or fastening any terminal. Use a properly sized ratcheting crimp tool rated for the wire gauge to ensure a gas-tight crimp on the barrel. Do not solder over the crimp unless the terminal and application specifically call for it, as improper soldering can create a brittle joint.
