The high-speed steel (HSS) construction with an oxide finish provides adequate hardness and corrosion resistance for everyday shop use. The Weldon flat shank with three flats locks securely in compatible chucks to prevent slipping under load. This bit is suited for use in both hand-held and bench-mounted drill setups by machinists, millwrights, and general metalworkers.

This drill bit is intended for drilling carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloy, stainless steel, and general steel stock.
