The IMPORT BDNA-20770 is a straight flute tap designed for cutting internal threads in a variety of materials. Built from high-speed steel with a gold oxide coating, it produces 10-32 UNF right-hand threads using a taper chamfer entry that eases starting and reduces the risk of cross-threading. The 4-flute configuration provides rigid support and efficient chip clearance during the threading operation. An H3 thread limit tolerance ensures consistent fit when working to standard UNF specifications. This tap is suited for machine shop work, maintenance applications, and production threading tasks handled by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical tradespeople.
The BDNA-20770 is applied wherever a 10-32 UNF internal thread is required, including threading tapped holes in light steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The taper chamfer style makes it appropriate for through-hole applications where the tap can advance gradually into the workpiece. It is commonly used in shop environments for fastener preparation, equipment repair, and general mechanical assembly work.
Designed as a standard replacement or utility straight flute tap for applications requiring 10-32 UNF internal threads in through-hole configurations.
Threading operations should be performed by qualified machinists or mechanical technicians using a properly aligned tap wrench or tapping head. Secure the workpiece firmly before tapping and apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to reduce heat and extend tap life. Back off periodically to break chips and prevent binding. Inspect the tap for wear or damage before each use and replace if cutting edges are chipped or dull.
