The IMPORT 28109 is a polyolefin heat shrink sleeve designed for insulating, bundling, and protecting wiring and cable connections in electrical and mechanical applications. With a 2:1 shrink ratio, the tubing starts at 1/2 inch inside diameter and recovers to 1/4 inch ID after heat is applied. At 8 feet in overall length, this sleeve provides ample coverage for multiple terminations or a single extended run. It activates at 248 degrees F and carries ratings for corrosion, fluid, and fungus resistance, making it reliable in demanding service environments. Licensed electricians, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals routinely use this type of tubing for wire harness protection and connector strain relief.
This heat shrink sleeve fits residential and commercial electrical applications wherever insulated wire protection or moisture sealing is required. It is appropriate for low-voltage control wiring, general-purpose conductor insulation, and cable management in panel work, equipment service, and field repair scenarios. The 8-foot length allows techs to cut to length on the job, reducing material waste across varied task sizes.
Designed as a general-purpose heat shrink sleeve for use on conductors and cables requiring an inside diameter of up to 1/2 inch before shrinking, suitable for standard electrical wiring, low-voltage control circuits, and cable protection applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified service technicians following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying the sleeve to any conductors or terminations. Use a heat gun set to an appropriate temperature to achieve uniform shrinkage — avoid open flame, which can damage the tubing or adjacent components. Ensure the sleeve is fully recovered and seated against the conductor insulation before restoring power.
