The ILSCO PEC-4-350 is an insulating cover designed to protect electrical connectors from accidental contact and environmental exposure. This type of cover fits over a completed connector assembly, providing a dielectric barrier that reduces the risk of shorts and incidental contact with live terminations. It is used in low-voltage and branch-circuit wiring applications and is installed by licensed electricians during panel work, junction connections, or service entry terminations. The cover measures 6.75 inches long by 7.75 inches wide by 4.25 inches tall and weighs 2.12 pounds.
This insulating cover is suited for use in residential and commercial electrical installations where exposed connector terminations require a protective sleeve or cap. Typical applications include service conductor connections, feeder tap assemblies, and large-conductor termination points where code compliance and worker safety require insulation over bare or exposed metal connector bodies. It is installed as a finishing step after the primary conductor termination is complete and torqued to spec.
Designed as an OEM-style insulating cover for use with compatible ILSCO PEC-series connector assemblies accepting up to 350 kcmil conductors.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any connector termination. Verify the primary conductor is fully seated and secured in the connector body before applying the insulating cover. Work must comply with applicable NEC requirements for insulation and protection of electrical terminations.
