The ILSCO clnf-250-12 is a long flared barrel compression lug designed for making secure, low-resistance terminations on copper conductors. Constructed from seamless electro-tin plated copper, this lug accommodates 250 kcmil conductor size and is rated for a 1/2 inch stud. The overall length is 3.688 inches, with a barrel length of 2.125 inches. The flared barrel entry guides conductor strands during insertion, reducing installation errors. Rated to 35 kV, this lug is appropriate for medium-voltage electrical work. It carries UL 486A/B, UL 453G, UL 467, and CSA approvals, making it suitable for code-compliant installations in commercial and industrial applications.
This lug is used in commercial and industrial electrical systems where reliable copper-to-copper or copper-to-bus terminations are required. The 250 kcmil rating places it in service on large feeder circuits, switchgear, transformers, and similar medium-to-high ampacity equipment. The yellow color coding assists with quick conductor size identification during installation and inspection. Licensed electricians install this lug type on power distribution equipment in both new construction and retrofit projects.
Designed for use with 250 kcmil copper conductors and 1/2 inch studs in UL and CSA listed electrical assemblies. Verify conductor stranding class and die selection with the compression tool manufacturer before crimping.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before termination work. Use a calibrated hydraulic compression tool and the die size specified by ILSCO for this lug model. Do not use mechanical set-screw connectors or open-barrel crimp tools as substitutes for a proper compression die.
