The IGUS MFI-0810-05 is a flanged sleeve bearing manufactured from M250-grade thermoplastic. It provides a plain bore, self-lubricating bearing surface suitable for rotary and linear shaft applications. The bore measures 0.5 inches in diameter, the outer diameter is 0.625 inches, and the overall length is 0.3125 inches. The flange extends to 0.875 inches in outside diameter with a flange thickness of 0.062 inches. With a maximum pressure-velocity rating of 9800 psi, this bearing handles moderate load conditions without requiring external lubrication. It is typically installed by maintenance technicians and mechanical assemblers in light-to-medium duty equipment.
This bearing is suited for applications in conveying systems, packaging equipment, agricultural machinery, and general industrial assemblies where a compact, corrosion-resistant plain bearing is needed. The self-lubricating thermoplastic construction makes it appropriate for environments where grease contamination is undesirable or periodic lubrication is impractical. The flanged design allows for axial retention and simplified press-fit installation into standard housing bores. It carries RoHS II compliance, making it suitable for applications with environmental material restrictions.
Designed for installation into housing bores with limits between 0.6250 and 0.6260 inches, per the Series M250 specification. Part of the IGUS M250 series flanged sleeve bearing family.
Installation is typically performed by mechanical technicians using a bearing press or arbor press to seat the bearing flush within the housing bore. Ensure the housing bore is clean and within the specified tolerance range of 0.6250 to 0.6260 inches before pressing to prevent distortion of the bearing wall. Power down and de-energize any equipment before servicing bearings on rotating shafts. Do not use impact tools that may crack or deform the thermoplastic material.
