The IDEAL WT6-B is a standard twist-on wire connector designed for making secure electrical splices in residential, commercial, and industrial wiring applications. Rated at 600 volts with a maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F, this connector uses a flame-retardant shell to reduce fire risk at the termination point. The red color coding corresponds to a minimum compatible wire size of 2 AWG, helping electricians quickly identify the correct connector for the conductor size on the job. Each package contains 250 connectors, making it a practical stocking quantity for service vans and panel shops.
The WT6-B is used wherever twist-on splices are required in branch circuit wiring, fixture connections, device rough-in, and junction box terminations. It suits standard residential and light commercial work where conductors are joined inside listed enclosures. The flame-retardant housing meets requirements in installations where code calls for connectors rated under UL 486C and UL 774A. Licensed electricians and apprentices routinely use this connector type on NEC-governed installations.
Designed as a standard twist-on wire connector for use with conductors starting at 2 AWG in listed junction boxes, outlet boxes, and enclosures per NEC requirements.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician or qualified apprentice. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before making or breaking any splice. Strip conductors to the length recommended by the connector manufacturer, insert wires into the connector, and twist clockwise until firm resistance is felt and no bare copper is exposed below the skirt. Do not exceed the connector's rated conductor combination or voltage rating.
