The IDEAL INDUSTRIES B2B is a low-profile twist-on wire connector designed for use in tight, confined spaces where standard connectors may not fit. Known as the B-CAP, this Red Model B2 unit features slim, classic fins and an expanding interior spring that creates a secure, high-torque grip on conductors. The flame-retardant shell withstands environmental extremes, and a deep skirt provides maximum dielectric protection against flash-over and turned-back strands. This connector handles wire combinations up to 5 conductors of 12 AWG in the Red B2 configuration. Electricians rely on these for retrofit work, shallow electrical boxes, and general branch-circuit splicing. Sold as a bag of 500.
The B2B B-CAP connector is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work where space constraints are a factor. The low-profile body is particularly useful in shallow outlet boxes, junction boxes, and retrofit panel or fixture work where bulk connectors fail to seat properly. The reusable design allows removal and reinstallation on the same or larger wire combinations, making it practical for staged installations and service calls. Wire gauge range across the full B-CAP product family spans 20 AWG through 6 AWG, with the Red Model B2 covering its rated combination range.
Designed for use with copper conductors in the gauge range supported by the Red Model B2 configuration, up to 5 conductors of 12 AWG. Compatible with standard NEC-compliant residential and light commercial branch-circuit wiring applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NEC requirements. Always de-energize the circuit and verify with a voltage tester before making or breaking any wiring connection. Twist the connector clockwise onto pre-stripped conductors until a firm, snug fit is achieved. Do not over-torque or use power tools to install twist-on connectors, as this may damage the spring or conductor insulation.
