The IDEAL 83-2331 is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire terminations in electrical wiring applications. Built with a brass contact and a titanium nitride (TiN) contact plating, this terminal provides reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance at the connection point. The vinyl insulation sleeve covers the barrel for partial protection while leaving the ring exposed for secure stud fastening. Rated for 12 to 10 AWG wire, it measures 1.047 inches in length and 0.512 inches in width, making it compact and suitable for tight panel or junction box installations. Electricians and panel technicians are the primary installers of this terminal type.
This ring terminal is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work where 12 to 10 AWG conductors require a mechanically secure, stud-mounted termination. Common applications include control panels, equipment grounding connections, HVAC control wiring, and power distribution terminals. The number 8 stud size and 4.30 mm stud diameter make it compatible with standard screw terminals found in breaker panels, disconnect boxes, and terminal blocks. Each package contains 25 terminals, making it practical for service calls and small installation runs.
Designed for use with 12 to 10 AWG conductors and number 8 threaded studs. Suitable as an OEM-style crimp ring terminal for electrical panel wiring, equipment grounding, and control circuit terminations where a partially insulated ring lug is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit completely before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the appropriate AWG range to ensure a gas-tight crimp. Inspect the finished crimp for proper barrel compression and confirm the ring seats flat against the stud before torquing the fastener.
