The IDEAL 83-2221 is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire terminations on 16 to 14 AWG conductors. The contact is made from brass with a TiN (titanium nitride) plating for corrosion resistance and reliable conductivity. The blue vinyl insulation sleeve provides partial coverage, making it easy to identify wire gauge range at a glance. Measuring 0.764 inches in overall length and 0.394 inches in ring width, this terminal fits a No. 6 stud and is suited for compact termination points in panel wiring, control circuits, and electrical enclosures. Licensed electricians and panel technicians are the primary installers.
This ring terminal is used in residential and light commercial electrical work wherever a secure, low-resistance connection is needed at a screw or stud lug. Common applications include control panel wiring, low-voltage circuit terminations, and equipment grounding or bonding connections. The No. 6 stud size fits standard terminal screws found on many control boards, breaker lugs, and electrical equipment. Wire gauge compatibility spans 1.50 to 2.50 sq mm, covering the most common light-gauge stranded and solid copper conductors used in these applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ring terminal for No. 6 stud applications accepting 16 to 14 AWG conductors in residential and light commercial electrical systems.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified electrical technicians. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage with a meter before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimping tool rated for the wire gauge and terminal type to ensure a gas-tight crimp. Do not re-crimp or reuse a terminal that has been removed from a stud.
