The IDEAL 83-2141 is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for secure crimp connections on 22 to 18 AWG wire. The terminal features a brass contact with a TiN (titanium nitride) plating and a red vinyl insulation sleeve that provides partial coverage for quick visual identification of wire gauge range. At 0.819 inches in overall length and 0.394 inches in width, this terminal fits a No. 10 stud and suits applications where a reliable mechanical and electrical connection is required. Each package contains 25 terminals. Licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians are the primary installers.
This ring terminal is suited for residential and light commercial electrical wiring applications, including control panel wiring, HVAC low-voltage circuits, and general electrical termination work. The No. 10 stud size is common in terminal blocks, control boards, and equipment grounding points. Compatible wire sizes span 0.50 to 1.00 square millimeters, corresponding to the 22 to 18 AWG range, making this terminal appropriate for instrumentation wiring and small-gauge control circuits found in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trade applications.
Designed as a standard crimp ring terminal for 22 to 18 AWG wire terminations on No. 10 studs in residential and light commercial electrical, HVAC control, and low-voltage wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or HVAC technician in accordance with NEC requirements for wire terminations. De-energize the circuit completely before terminating or disturbing any wiring. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool sized for the 22 to 18 AWG range to achieve a proper mechanical crimp — do not use pliers as a substitute for a crimp tool. Inspect each terminated ring for secure barrel engagement and insulation integrity before restoring power.
