The IDEAL 83-2121 is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire terminations on 22 to 18 AWG conductors. The terminal features a brass contact with TiN plating and a red vinyl insulation sleeve that partially covers the barrel, leaving the ring exposed for stud fastening. It accepts a No. 6 stud (3.70 mm) and measures 0.764 inches long by 0.394 inches wide. Licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians use these terminals to create reliable, code-acceptable wire-to-screw connections in panels, junction boxes, and control wiring applications. The unit is sold in packages of 25.
These ring terminals are suited for light commercial and residential electrical work where 22 to 18 AWG wire is terminated to screw terminals or studs. Common applications include control panel wiring, HVAC low-voltage circuits, thermostat wiring, and general electrical panel connections. The No. 6 stud size fits standard binding-post screws found on terminal blocks and equipment chassis throughout the trade.
Designed for use with 22 to 18 AWG (0.50 to 1.00 sq mm) conductors terminated to No. 6 studs. Suitable as a standard crimp ring terminal in any application requiring a UL-recognized, partially insulated ring lug of this stud size and wire range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit completely before terminating or inspecting any connections. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the 22 to 18 AWG range to ensure a gas-tight crimp — do not use pliers or uncalibrated tools as an improper crimp can cause resistance heating or pull-out failure. Inspect the insulation sleeve after crimping to confirm no cracking or displacement.
