The IDEAL 83-0521 is a non-insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp termination of 6 AWG conductors. Constructed with a brass contact body and a titanium nitride (TiN) plating, it delivers reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance at the termination point. The terminal measures 1.173 inches in overall length and 0.472 inches in ring width, with a 1/4-inch stud hole for secure fastened connections. It is sold in a package of 20. Electricians and panel technicians install this terminal where a clean, permanent, low-resistance lug connection is required on medium-gauge wire runs.
This ring terminal is suited for use in residential and light commercial electrical panels, distribution boards, grounding applications, and equipment wiring where 6 AWG conductors terminate to a stud or busbar. Its non-insulated design allows installation in confined terminal blocks or lugs where an insulated sleeve would interfere with clearance requirements. The crimp connection method meets standard production and field wiring practices across panel, motor control, and grounding circuit assemblies.
Designed for crimp termination of 6 AWG conductors (14.00 sq mm equivalent) to 1/4-inch or 6.40 mm stud hardware in standard electrical panel and grounding applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before installing any ring terminal. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the conductor gauge and terminal type to achieve a proper mechanical and electrical crimp. Do not solder over a crimped barrel, as this can create a stress point and compromise the connection.
