The IDEAL 83-0451 is a non-insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire terminations on 8 AWG conductors. The contact body is brass with a titanium nitride (TiN) plating, providing a reliable conductive connection at the lug-to-stud interface. At 1.161 inches in overall length and 0.591 inches in ring width, this terminal fits a 3/8-inch stud. It is sold in a package of 25. Electricians and panel technicians use this terminal in panel wiring, grounding applications, and equipment terminations where a bare, uninsulated lug is specified or preferred over a heat-shrink or vinyl-insulated style.
This ring terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work. It is appropriate for use in control panels, distribution boards, grounding conductors, and equipment bonding where an 8 AWG wire lands on a 3/8-inch fastener or stud. The non-insulated design is commonly selected when the installation environment already provides insulation or when an inspector-visible bare termination is required. Each package contains 25 terminals, supporting multi-point termination jobs without reordering mid-task.
Designed for crimp termination on 8 AWG conductors landing on 3/8-inch studs or fasteners; compatible wire size is also referenced as 8.00 square millimeters.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before stripping and crimping any terminal. Use a ratcheting crimp tool rated for the wire gauge and terminal series to ensure a full, gas-tight crimp. Do not solder over a crimped non-insulated terminal unless the design specifically calls for it, as this can create a stress point at the barrel edge.
