The IDEAL 83-0431 is a non-insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style termination of 8 AWG conductors. The contact body is made from brass with a TiN (titanium nitride) plating, providing a reliable mechanical and electrical connection at the lug point. At 0.937 inches in overall length and 0.472 inches in ring width, the terminal fits a 1/4-inch stud. Electricians and panel technicians use these terminals when terminating grounding conductors, bonding leads, or branch-circuit wiring to buss bars, lugs, and equipment terminals where an insulated barrel is not required or preferred.
This terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical work wherever 8 AWG wire must be landed on a 1/4-inch stud. Typical applications include panel grounding, equipment bonding, and control wiring terminations. The non-insulated design allows inspection of the conductor after crimping and is common in applications governed by NEC grounding and bonding requirements. Each package contains 25 terminals, making it practical for service work and new-installation jobs alike.
Designed for use with 8 AWG copper conductors terminated to 1/4-inch stud hardware in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or disturbing any conductors. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool rated for the conductor gauge to ensure a gas-tight crimp. Do not over-strip the conductor insulation beyond the barrel length, and verify full conductor seating before applying the crimp.
