The IDEAL 83-0221 is a non-insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire termination in electrical panels, control circuits, and field wiring applications. Rated for 16 to 14 AWG conductors (1.50 to 2.50 sq mm), this terminal accepts a number 6 stud and is constructed with a brass contact body and a TiN (titanium nitride) contact plating for corrosion resistance and reliable conductivity. At 0.567 inches long and 0.26 inches wide, it is a compact, low-profile termination point. It is listed by both UL and cUL and is RoHS compliant. Electricians and control wiring technicians install this type of terminal using a ratcheting or inline crimp tool suited to the AWG range.
This ring terminal is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work, HVAC low-voltage control wiring, panel terminations, and equipment grounding connections where a bare, non-insulated terminal is required or preferred. The number 6 stud size fits standard machine screws commonly found on terminal blocks, grounding bars, and equipment chassis lugs. Each package contains 25 pieces, and the minimum order quantity is 1 package.
Designed for crimp termination on 16 to 14 AWG conductors secured to number 6 stud fasteners, consistent with standard electrical panel, control board, and grounding applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified control wiring technician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any wires. Use a ratcheting crimp tool rated for the 16 to 14 AWG range to ensure a full, gas-tight crimp — do not use pliers or non-ratcheting tools as they may result in an incomplete crimp. Inspect the finished crimp for wire strand pullout resistance before re-energizing the circuit.
