The IDEAL 45-093 is an automatic wire stripper designed for stripping insulated copper conductors from 22 AWG to 14 AWG. The tool uses knife-type blades to deliver clean, accurate cuts through insulation without nicking the conductor. At 7 inches overall length with a plastic cushion handle, it fits comfortably in a tool pouch and handles repeated use during panel work, device rough-in, and low-voltage wiring tasks. Maximum strip length is 0.09 inches (2.30 mm). The automatic stripping mechanism completes the strip in one step, reducing hand fatigue on high-volume jobs. Electricians and low-voltage technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This wire stripper is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work where solid and stranded wire in the 22 to 14 AWG range is common. Typical applications include device and fixture wiring, control wiring, thermostat low-voltage circuits, and data or communication cable termination. The 22 to 14 AWG capacity covers the most common branch circuit and control wire sizes used in NEC-governed installations. The one-step automatic action is well-matched to tasks requiring consistent strip length across large numbers of conductors.
Designed for use with insulated copper conductors in the 22 to 14 AWG range, consistent with standard automatic wire strippers used in electrical and low-voltage trade applications.
This tool is used by licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians during wire termination work. Always de-energize circuits and verify voltage absence with a meter before stripping any conductors on an existing installation. Inspect blade condition regularly — worn or nicked blades can damage conductor strands and create a poor termination. Follow NEC requirements for conductor preparation at device and equipment terminals.
