The INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS p706-9006 is a dedicated refrigerant recovery cylinder designed for use exclusively with R-454B and R-32 refrigerants. Both R-454B and R-32 carry a mildly flammable classification (A2L), which drives several key design differences from standard R-410A recovery cylinders. The cylinder top is red for immediate visual identification. A pressure relief valve replaces the traditional rupture disc for enhanced safety. The fill and connection threads are left-handed (reversed), which prevents accidental cross-use with R-410A equipment. Licensed HVAC technicians performing refrigerant recovery on A2L systems will require this cylinder and a compatible reverse-thread adapter for hose connections.
This cylinder is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC service work involving R-454B or R-32 systems. As the industry transitions away from R-410A toward lower-GWP A2L refrigerants, proper recovery equipment becomes critical. This cylinder is not interchangeable with R-410A recovery cylinders. Technicians servicing systems charged with R-454B or R-32 must use a cylinder rated and labeled for those specific refrigerants. A separate R-410A recovery cylinder remains necessary for any R-410A work performed in the same service environment.
Designed exclusively for recovery of R-454B and R-32 refrigerants. Not compatible with R-410A refrigerant recovery applications. A reverse-thread adapter is required to connect recovery hoses; refer to the gauges, manifolds, hoses, and adapters section for compatible accessories.
Refrigerant recovery must be performed by an EPA Section 608 certified technician using properly rated equipment. Before beginning recovery, shut down the HVAC system and confirm the refrigerant type to ensure the correct cylinder is selected. Because R-454B and R-32 are A2L mildly flammable refrigerants, follow all applicable safety codes and equipment manufacturer guidelines when handling, storing, and transporting recovery cylinders. Do not use a standard right-handed R-410A hose assembly without the required reverse-thread adapter.
