The INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS MEVM5X60M24A is a 5-ton multi-position V-type evaporator coil designed for use with R-454B refrigerant in residential and light commercial split-system cooling applications. Built with an aluminum coil construction, this unit is part of the Maratherm EVM5X product group and is engineered to handle the operating characteristics of R-454B, a lower global warming potential refrigerant increasingly specified in new-equipment installations. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians as part of a split-system air conditioning or heat pump setup paired with a compatible outdoor condensing unit and air handler or furnace.
This evaporator coil is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC installations requiring a 5-ton capacity. The V-coil configuration provides efficient heat transfer within standard air handler cabinets. Its aluminum construction offers corrosion resistance in typical indoor air environments. The MEVM5X60M24A is a multi-position coil, allowing installation flexibility across upflow, downflow, and horizontal configurations depending on system layout and space constraints.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation evaporator coil within the INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS Maratherm EVM5X product group, compatible with systems charged with R-454B refrigerant at 5-ton capacity.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for handling regulated refrigerants. Shut down and de-energize the entire HVAC system, including the air handler and outdoor condensing unit, before beginning coil installation or replacement. Verify refrigerant line sizes, drain pan connections, and cabinet sealing per the equipment manufacturer specifications and applicable local mechanical codes. Do not pressurize or charge the system until all connections have been leak-tested and the installation is confirmed complete.
