The INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS g96vtn0401410b is a two-stage, multipoise residential gas furnace built around a variable-speed, constant-torque ECM blower motor. It delivers up to 96% AFUE in upflow and horizontal positions and 95% AFUE in downflow position, meeting ENERGY STAR qualification across all configurations. Rated at 40,000 BTU/h heat output and 1,000 CFM airflow at 120 volts, it is designed for installation by licensed HVAC technicians in residential forced-air heating systems. The fully insulated steel cabinet features cabinet air leakage below 2.0% at 1.0 inch W.C. and below 1.4% at 0.5 inch W.C. when tested per ASHRAE standard 193.
This furnace suits residential applications requiring high-efficiency gas heat with flexible installation options. It supports upflow, downflow, and horizontal left or right configurations from a single multipoise cabinet. It accommodates direct vent two-pipe, single-pipe, or ventilated combustion air venting in at least twelve configurations. The ECM blower provides a SEER boost when paired with select cooling equipment, and the unit supports both single-stage and two-stage cooling systems. A dehumidification feature operates during cooling calls. Low NOx models are specifically engineered for California air quality management districts with a 40 ng/J NOx emissions requirement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation furnace compatible with single-stage and two-stage cooling units; concentric vent kits and counterflow or horizontal flue pipe accessories are available separately.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer instructions. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power at the breaker before beginning any service or installation work. Venting must comply with applicable fuel gas codes, including IFGC requirements for combustion air and flue termination clearances. Quarter-turn door knobs and the slide-out blower and heat exchanger assemblies are designed to reduce service time once the unit is safely de-energized.
