The INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS endwx48l24a is a cased Type N evaporator coil rated at 48,000 BTU/h (4 ton nominal) for use with R-410A refrigerant. Designed for upflow and downflow air handler or furnace installations, it ships with a factory-installed thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) and an aluminum hairpin coil construction inside a painted steel enclosure. The slide-out coil design simplifies service access: removing the access door and service panel allows the coil to slide free of the cabinet without cutting refrigerant lines in most service scenarios. Licensed HVAC technicians install this coil as part of a split-system cooling assembly.
This coil is suited for residential and light-commercial vertical installations where upflow or downflow air movement is required. The END4X series offers multiple width configurations to accommodate different air handler and furnace cabinet widths. The unit supports airflow rates from 1,200 to 2,000 CFM, making it appropriate for central forced-air systems sized at 4 tons. Its transition-capable design simplifies field-supplied duct transition work where cabinet-to-duct alignment requires adaptation.
Designed as an OEM-style cased N-coil replacement or new-installation component within the END4X series for vertical upflow and downflow split-system applications using R-410A refrigerant.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and EPA Section 608 regulations governing refrigerant handling. Shut off all electrical power to the air handler or furnace and recover system refrigerant before disconnecting refrigerant lines. Verify that liquid line (3/8 inch) and suction line (7/8 inch) connection sizes match existing piping before installation. Ensure the cabinet opening dimensions are confirmed against the coil dimensions prior to rough-in.
