The INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS D5CSRAH12AAJ is a mini-split heat pump condensing unit rated at 12,000 BTU/h and designed to operate on 115 volts. It uses R454B refrigerant, a lower-GWP A2L-class refrigerant increasingly specified in new residential and light-commercial installations. The unit serves as the outdoor section of a ductless split system, delivering both heating and cooling functions. This condensing unit is installed by licensed HVAC technicians as part of a complete mini-split system, paired with a compatible indoor air handler. At 64.6 pounds, the unit is manageable for a two-person install crew on a standard pad or wall bracket mount.
The D5CSRAH12AAJ is suited for residential and light-commercial ductless applications where a single-zone solution is required. Typical installations include room additions, garages, server rooms, sunrooms, and spaces where extending existing ductwork is impractical. The 115-volt power requirement makes it compatible with standard residential single-phase electrical circuits, reducing the electrical upgrade burden compared to 230-volt units. This unit falls within the Heil-branded D5CSRAH subgroup under the ICP family of HVAC products.
Designed as an OEM mini-split condensing unit within the ICP D5CSRAH product subgroup, sold under the Heil brand. Consult the manufacturer installation documentation to confirm compatible indoor air handler pairings before ordering.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for handling A2L refrigerants such as R454B. Disconnect and lock out all power to the circuit before making electrical or refrigerant connections. Follow local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation manual for line-set length limits, refrigerant line sizing, and outdoor unit placement clearances. A2L refrigerant handling requires attention to ignition-source controls and ventilation requirements per current ASHRAE 15 and applicable local amendments.
