The ICM-ICM253 is a fan blower control module designed to manage circulating fan operation in heat pump, air conditioning, and forced air heating systems. It uses an off delay on break timing function that keeps the blower running after the heating or cooling cycle ends, purging residual conditioned air from the ductwork before shutting the fan down. The adjustable time delay spans 12 to 390 seconds, giving technicians flexibility to match duct purge time to system size. Operating voltage is 18 to 30 VAC at 50-60 Hz, with a 1-amp load rating and a minimum holding current of 40 milliamps. Licensed HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this control.
This module is suited for residential and light commercial forced air systems including heat pumps, central air conditioning systems, and gas or electric furnaces with forced air distribution. The off delay function increases system efficiency by ensuring residual heated or cooled air reaches living spaces rather than sitting in ductwork after compressor or burner shutoff. It is particularly useful in retrofit and replacement applications where the existing blower control has failed or the installer wants to add adjustable fan-off delay capability to an existing air handler or furnace.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fan blower control for residential and light commercial heat pump, air conditioning, and forced air heating systems requiring an adjustable off delay on break function.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Always disconnect power to the air handler or furnace before removing or installing the control module. Verify that the system control voltage falls within the 18 to 30 VAC operating range before wiring. Follow all applicable local codes and manufacturer wiring diagrams when connecting low-voltage control circuits.
