The HUNTER INDUSTRIES PCB25 is a pressure-compensating bubbler designed for low-volume drip and flood irrigation applications. It delivers a consistent 0.25 gallons per minute (GPM) output regardless of system pressure fluctuations, making it a reliable choice for tree wells, shrub basins, and planter boxes where uniform water distribution is critical. The unit threads into a standard 1/2 inch Female Iron Pipe Thread (FIPT) fitting and is installed by irrigation technicians as part of a drip or bubbler zone. Its compact form and simple inline installation make it a common component in both residential and light commercial landscapes.
The PCB25 is suited for use in landscape irrigation systems where controlled, low-flow water delivery is required at individual plant stations. It performs well in zones fed by standard irrigation mainline or lateral pipe where pressure variation is a concern. Typical installations include tree rings, raised planters, and shrub beds served by a drip zone controller or dedicated bubbler zone valve. The pressure-compensating design maintains steady flow across a range of inlet pressures, reducing the need for zone pressure regulation in many installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation bubbler for landscape irrigation systems using 1/2 inch FIPT risers or lateral fittings in drip and bubbler zone configurations.
Installation is performed by licensed irrigation technicians or qualified landscaping professionals. Shut off the zone valve and depressurize the lateral line before threading the bubbler onto the riser. Use thread seal tape on the FIPT connection and hand-tighten before applying tool torque to avoid cracking the fitting. Verify flow output after system pressurization to confirm the pressure-compensating mechanism is seated and functioning correctly.
