The Hunter Industries PCB20 is a pressure compensating bubbler designed for low-volume drip and bubbler irrigation systems. It delivers a consistent 2.0 gallons per minute (GPM) flow rate regardless of inlet pressure fluctuations, making it well suited for tree rings, shrub basins, and ground-level emitter applications. The 0.5 inch female iron pipe thread (FIPT) inlet connects directly to standard bubbler stakes or riser assemblies. Irrigation technicians and landscape contractors install this fitting where precise, repeatable flow is required at each emission point.
This bubbler is used in residential and light commercial landscape irrigation systems, typically in drip zones or dedicated low-volume circuits. It is installed at grade or just above the soil surface to flood irrigate planting basins, tree wells, or shrub beds. The pressure compensating design eliminates the need to rebalance flow after system pressure changes, which reduces callbacks and simplifies zone management in multi-emitter layouts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or addition for residential and commercial drip and bubbler irrigation systems using 0.5 inch FIPT threaded fittings and risers.
Installation is typically performed by licensed irrigation contractors or landscape professionals. Shut off the irrigation zone and relieve system pressure before threading the bubbler onto the riser or stake. Use thread seal tape on male threads and hand-tighten to avoid cracking the fitting body. Verify flow rate and coverage after pressurizing the zone, and check local water authority requirements for backflow prevention on irrigation systems.
