The HUNTER INDUSTRIES node200 is a 2-station, battery-powered irrigation controller designed for isolated sites and power-restricted areas where running AC wiring is not practical. The unit mounts directly to a valve solenoid without screws, drills, or additional wiring, simplifying installation in tight or remote locations. Powered by one or two 9-volt batteries, it delivers standard or extended runtime throughout the irrigation season. A built-in LCD screen provides straightforward programming, and the waterproof enclosure is built to withstand the wet, confined conditions typical of an in-ground valve box. Licensed irrigation technicians and landscape contractors are the primary installers.
The node200 is suited for residential and light commercial irrigation systems where a dedicated power source is unavailable or impractical. Common applications include isolated valve clusters, remote turf zones, and retrofit installations where trenching new wire is cost-prohibitive. The controller supports 3 independent programs with up to 4 start times per program, giving installers flexible scheduling options across 2 stations. Programming follows standard Hunter controller conventions, reducing the learning curve for technicians already familiar with Hunter equipment.
Designed as a direct solenoid-mount replacement controller compatible with standard Hunter solenoid-equipped irrigation valves. No additional wiring or adapters required for typical Hunter valve installations.
Installation is performed by licensed irrigation contractors or qualified landscape technicians. Before servicing any valve or controller, shut off the irrigation system water supply and discharge any pressure in the lines. The node200 mounts directly onto the valve solenoid; ensure the solenoid is fully seated and the locking collar is secure before placing the unit in service. Follow all applicable local codes and manufacturer guidelines when installing battery-powered controllers in underground valve boxes.
