The HUBBELL SEC50BA is a straight male cord connector designed for liquidtight sealing in hazardous location applications. Built from black nylon with a one-piece connector body and machined threads, this connector accepts cord diameters from 0.17 to 0.45 inches through a 1/2 inch NPT threaded entry. The patented GOTCHA Ring uses a split hinge design to prevent friction and deliver positive strain relief. A lubricated neoprene bushing compresses evenly around the cord to form a liquidtight seal and resist pull-out. The tapered interior dome drives the bushing uniformly into the body for consistent seating on every installation. Color-coded for sizing identification in multi-connector installations.
The SEC50BA is suited for industrial and commercial wiring installations where liquidtight cord termination is required in classified or wet environments. Its low-profile machined thread design makes it appropriate for panel knockouts and enclosure entries where clearance is limited. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install this connector in hazardous location conduit and wiring systems where IP66-rated ingress protection and strain relief are required by code. The 1/2 inch NPT thread size fits standard electrical enclosure knockouts widely used across industrial control panels and junction boxes.
Designed as an OEM-style liquidtight cord connector for use with standard 1/2 inch NPT electrical enclosure entries in hazardous location and industrial wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and any applicable local codes governing hazardous location wiring. De-energize the circuit and lock out the panel before making any cord or enclosure connections. Thread the connector body into the enclosure knockout hand-tight before using a wrench to achieve a secure, liquidtight fit — avoid over-torquing the nylon body. Verify cord diameter falls within the 0.17 to 0.45 inch range before seating the bushing to ensure a proper liquidtight seal.
