The HUBBELL PREMISE WIRING HC6RREY is a Category 6 riser-rated network cable packaged in a Reelex spool configuration and finished in yellow jacket. Cat6 riser cable (CMR) is designed for vertical runs between building floors, meeting fire-code requirements for in-wall and between-floor pathways. The Reelex payout format allows tangle-free, pull-from-center deployment, reducing kinks and labor time during rough-in. This cable is installed by licensed electricians, low-voltage technicians, and structured-wiring contractors in commercial and residential new-construction or retrofit projects.
The HC6RREY is suited for vertical backbone and horizontal distribution runs in commercial office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-family residential structures. The yellow jacket makes it easy to identify cable type and segment at the rack or patch panel. CMR-rated cable is required by the NEC when cable passes through floor penetrations or vertical shafts between floors. This product ships as a single unit (EA, quantity one per unit) and falls within the Cat6 Riser product category.
Designed as an OEM-style structured-wiring solution compatible with standard Cat6 patch panels, keystone jacks, and 110-style punch-down blocks used in TIA-568-compliant network installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or electrician familiar with NEC Article 800 requirements for communications cable. Power down or de-energize adjacent circuits before fishing cable through walls or ceilings to prevent contact with live conductors. Do not bend the cable below its minimum bend radius, and avoid sharp staples or tie wraps that can deform the cable geometry and degrade Cat6 performance. CMR-rated cable must be used in riser pathways; do not substitute riser cable in plenum spaces where CMP-rated cable is required.
