The HUBBELL PREMISE WIRING FPSCAS3SM is a single-mode fiber optic pigtail terminated with an SC/APC connector. A fiber pigtail is a short length of optical fiber with one factory-terminated connector end and one bare fiber end, designed for splicing directly into a fiber distribution or termination enclosure. The SC/APC connector features an angled physical contact (APC) polish that reduces back-reflection, making it well suited for applications where signal integrity and low return loss are critical. Licensed fiber optic technicians and structured cabling installers are the primary users of this component.
This pigtail is used in fiber optic distribution frames, patch panels, splice enclosures, and termination boxes in both commercial and residential structured cabling installations. The 3-meter length provides adequate slack for routing inside enclosures or equipment racks. The SC/APC connector type is common in telecommunications, CATV, and FTTx passive optical network deployments where angled connectors are specified to minimize reflectance at connection points.
