The HUBBELL MF90-1 is a 1/2 inch explosion-proof 90-degree conduit elbow designed for use in hazardous location electrical installations. This fitting redirects conduit runs at a right angle while maintaining the explosion-proof integrity required in classified environments. It is installed by licensed electricians working in industrial, petrochemical, oil and gas, wastewater, or other facilities where flammable gases, vapors, or dust may be present. The elbow is built to withstand the demands of these environments and maintain a continuous, code-compliant conduit system.
This elbow is suited for use in hazardous location wiring systems requiring explosion-proof conduit fittings at 1/2 inch trade size. Typical applications include industrial plants, refineries, grain handling facilities, paint spray booths, and similar classified locations where NEC Article 500 governs the selection and installation of electrical equipment and fittings. It is used wherever a 90-degree change of direction is needed in a rigid metal conduit run within a hazardous area.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting compatible with 1/2 inch rigid metal conduit systems used in hazardous location electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with NEC Article 500 and the requirements for hazardous location conduit systems. De-energize all circuits in the work area before beginning conduit work. Ensure all threaded connections are fully engaged and properly sealed per the applicable hazardous location code requirements. Do not use in non-rated or non-classified conduit systems where explosion-proof fittings are not required.
