The HUBBELL ENY2M is a 3/4-inch explosion-proof sealing fitting constructed from malleable iron. Sealing fittings are required in hazardous location conduit systems to prevent the passage of gases, vapors, or flames from one portion of an electrical installation to another. This fitting is installed in conduit runs where they enter or exit explosion-proof enclosures, or where conduit transitions between hazardous and non-hazardous areas. Licensed electricians performing work in Class I hazardous locations install this type of fitting as part of code-compliant conduit sealing assemblies.
The ENY2M is suited for use in industrial, commercial, and petrochemical environments where explosive or flammable atmospheres may be present. Typical applications include refineries, chemical processing facilities, grain handling operations, and similar sites requiring conduit systems rated for hazardous location use. The 3/4-inch trade size accommodates standard conduit in that size range, making it a common specification in new installation and retrofit projects governed by NEC Article 501 requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style sealing fitting for 3/4-inch conduit systems in NEC Class I hazardous location installations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 501 and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit system before beginning work. Sealing compound must be packed and cured per manufacturer instructions before the fitting is placed in service. Do not substitute non-listed sealing compounds or omit the sealing process, as doing so compromises the explosion-proof rating of the system.
