The HUBBELL ENY1M is a malleable iron explosion-proof sealing fitting designed for use in hazardous location electrical conduit systems. Sealing fittings like this one are installed in conduit runs to prevent the passage of gases, vapors, or flames from one area of a conduit system to another. The ENY1M accepts 1/2-inch trade-size conduit and is constructed from malleable iron for durability in demanding industrial environments. This type of fitting is a core component in Class I and Class II hazardous location wiring systems and is installed by licensed electricians working under applicable NEC requirements for hazardous area classifications.
The ENY1M is intended for use in industrial and commercial installations where explosive or flammable atmospheres may be present, such as petrochemical facilities, grain handling operations, paint spray booths, and similar environments. The 1/2-inch trade size makes it suitable for smaller conduit runs in control circuits, sensor wiring, and branch circuit applications within classified areas. Installation must comply with NEC Article 501 for Class I locations or Article 502 for Class II locations as applicable to the specific hazardous area classification.
Designed as an OEM-style sealing fitting for 1/2-inch trade-size rigid or IMC conduit systems in NEC-classified hazardous locations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with NEC hazardous location requirements. De-energize all circuits and verify the absence of voltage before beginning work in any classified area. Sealing compound must be mixed and poured per manufacturer instructions and allowed to fully cure before energizing the system. Consult the applicable NEC articles and local authority having jurisdiction before installing in any hazardous location.
