The HUBBELL 8200WHI is a hospital grade straight-blade duplex receptacle rated for 15 amps at 125 volts AC on a single-phase, 2-pole, 3-wire grounding circuit with a NEMA 5-15R configuration. The face is constructed from high-impact-resistant nylon and the base from polybutylene terephthalate, giving the device the structural durability required for demanding healthcare and heavy commercial environments. It carries UL 498 and CSA C22.2 approval and meets Federal Specification W-C-596 and NEMA WD-6 standards. Licensed electricians install this receptacle in locations where hospital grade designation is mandated by code or facility specification.
The 8200WHI is suited for hospital patient-care areas, surgical suites, clinical settings, and other facilities where hospital grade receptacles are required by NFPA 99 or local electrical codes. Its smooth-face, traditional duplex form factor fits standard single-gang boxes and accepts back or side wiring, accommodating wire sizes from 14 to 10 AWG. The automatic self-grounding feature eliminates the need for a separate grounding clip when installed in a compatible metal box, making it practical for renovation work as well as new construction.
Designed as an OEM-style hospital grade replacement or new-installation duplex receptacle for standard single-gang electrical boxes wired with 14 to 10 AWG conductors on a 15-amp, 125-volt branch circuit.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and any applicable local or facility codes governing hospital grade receptacle use. De-energize and lock out the branch circuit at the panel before beginning any wiring work. Back and side wiring terminals accept 14 to 10 AWG conductors; follow the terminal torque specifications printed on the device or listed in the installation sheet. Do not install this receptacle on circuits exceeding 15 amps or 125 volts.
