The HUBBELL 07401008 is a straight male cord grip connector designed to provide secure strain relief for cables and flexible conduit in demanding environments. Built with an aluminum connector body and a double-weave stainless steel mesh, it accepts cord diameters from 0.375 to 0.5 inches and threads into a 1/2 inch NPT hub or knockout. The endless-weave mesh design locks onto the cable when tension is applied, preventing pull-out while maintaining arc-of-bend control to reduce stress and extend cable service life. Licensed electricians and maintenance technicians install this fitting in industrial, wet, and hazardous locations where a reliable strain relief device is required.
The 07401008 is rated for hazardous and wet location applications including wiring enclosures, pendant stations, hand tools, pumps, motors, machine tools, and construction and material handling equipment. Its threaded NPT body accepts attachment to either a threaded hub or a standard knockout opening. The temperature rating spans -30 to 225 degrees F, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations where thermal cycling or exposure to moisture and contaminants is expected. UL and CSA approvals support use on projects subject to national and local electrical code requirements.
Designed as a direct-fit strain relief connector for wiring enclosures, pendant stations, pumps, motors, machine tools, and construction and material handling equipment using 1/2 inch NPT threaded entries and cord diameters from 0.375 to 0.5 inches in hazardous or wet location applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and any applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before opening any enclosure or threading the fitting into a hub or knockout. Hand-thread the connector into the NPT entry first, then use an appropriate wrench to achieve a secure fit without over-tightening the aluminum body. Verify the mesh grip is fully seated over the cable jacket before tensioning to ensure proper strain relief engagement.
