The HUBBELL 07401006 is a straight male cord grip connector designed for strain relief and cable retention in demanding electrical installations. Built with an aluminum connector body and a double-weave stainless steel mesh, it accepts cord diameters from 0.25 to 0.375 inches and threads into a 1/2 inch NPT hub or knockout. The endless-weave mesh grips the cable uniformly, providing arc-of-bend control that reduces stress at the entry point and extends cable service life. It carries UL and CSA approvals and is rated for temperatures from -30 to 225 degrees F, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor hazardous location applications.
This cord grip is used in wiring enclosures, pendant stations, hand tools, pumps, motors, machine tools, and material handling equipment. Its hazardous and wet location rating makes it a practical choice for industrial facilities, processing plants, and construction sites where cable pullout and environmental exposure are ongoing concerns. The NPT-threaded body attaches directly to a threaded hub or knockout without additional adapters, streamlining installation in standard enclosures.

Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes for hazardous or wet location wiring. De-energize the circuit and lock out the power source before beginning work. Thread the connector body into the enclosure hub or knockout by hand first, then tighten with an appropriate wrench — do not overtighten aluminum fittings. Verify the mesh seats fully around the cord jacket before finalizing the connection to ensure proper strain relief.
