The HUBBELL 07401004 is a straight male cord grip connector designed for strain relief and cable retention in demanding electrical installations. Built with an aluminum connector body and a double-weave stainless steel mesh, this cord grip accommodates cord diameters from 0.187 to 0.25 inches and threads into a 1/2 inch NPT hub or knockout entry. The multiweave grip design controls the arc of bend at the entry point, reducing mechanical stress on the cable jacket and conductors. Rated for temperatures from -30 to 225 degrees F, it carries both UL and CSA approval. It is suited for licensed electricians and maintenance technicians working in hazardous or wet location environments.
This cord grip is listed for hazardous location applications and is appropriate for use in wiring enclosures, pendant stations, hand tools, construction equipment, processing and material handling equipment, pumps, motors, and machine tools. The fitting is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. The NPT threaded body allows attachment to either a threaded hub or a knockout in a standard electrical enclosure, making it a practical choice across a wide range of industrial and commercial wiring scenarios.
Designed as an OEM-style strain relief fitting for use with 1/2 inch NPT threaded enclosure hubs or knockouts in hazardous, wet, and general-duty industrial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes for hazardous location wiring. De-energize the circuit and lock out the power source before opening any enclosure or making connections. Ensure the cord diameter falls within the 0.187 to 0.25 inch range before selecting this grip size. Hand-tighten the connector onto the hub thread, then snug with an appropriate wrench — do not overtighten the aluminum body.
